Acne is not fun. It is embarrassing, and unsightly. People spend millions of dollars every year trying to clear their skin. Little do they know, that they might be doing something wrong and essentially, making their acne worse. I have tried literally hundreds of different products and systems trying to find the best acne cure. I found it, and I am here to give some advice on how to get rid of your pimples.
Zits are caused by pores being clogged by oils, grease, dirt, bacteria, and other environmental toxins. You need to remove all of these in order to effectively clear your skin. There are some ways that work great, and there are some that do not work at all. How are you supposed to know what to do when trying to find the acne cure that works for you? Here are two things you should do, and two things you shouldn’t do.
Should Do:
1. Keep Your Face Clean
You hear it a thousand times, but a clean face is the first step to clearing your skin. But there are many different soaps and cleansers out there, how do you choose the right one? You want to make sure there are no fragrances in the soap. Fragrances have oils and alcohols in them that can clog pores and make your acne worse. Also you want a gentle cleanser. Try to find a soap that is pH balanced for your skin type. If you have sensitive skin, do not get a soap formulated for oily skin. Wash your face twice daily; once when you wake up, and once when you go to bed. This is not too often that it will dry your skin out, but frequent enough to keep the dirt, bacteria, etc. off.
2. Eat Healthier
Believe it or not, the food you eat does have an effect on your complexion. Try to eat fruits, vegetables, fish, and grains. These will give you the essential vitamins you need to sustain healthier skin. Fried foods, and generally “unhealthy” foods are going to cause more breakouts.
Should Not Do:
1. Touch Your Face
Think of everything you touch everyday. Now think that every time you touch anything, germs and bacteria are transferred to your hands. Now, when you touch your face, these germs and bacteria are transferred to your face. If you want to find the perfect acne cure, you are going to have to stop touching your face first.
2. Use Harsh Chemicals
I have written before, that I used to go out to try to find the astringent with the highest salicylic acid content. What this was doing was overly drying my skin and causing more breakouts. If you want to clear your skin, find something that naturally kills germs and bacteria. The less chemicals you use on your face, the better.

The Facts About Oily Skin Care And Acne Skin Care Products

Acne begins on a small scale, you can’t see beneath your pores but a lot is going on. Overproduction of oil leads to clogging of skin pores, resulting in accumulation of dead cells and hence formation of pimples/acne. Moreover, oily skin spoils your looks too. So, oily skin care is as important as the ’skin care’ for other types of skin. Put plainly, oily skin is a result of inordinate production of sebum (an oily substance that is naturally produced by skin). As is known to everyone, excess of everything is bad; so excessive sebum is bad too.
Watch what you put on your body with regards to clothing, sports gear and equipment, too. For example, tight lycra and nylon exercise outfits might look great in the movies and on magazine models, but if you are susceptible to acne problems, avoid these synthetic fabrics that tend to trap in body moisture and heat resulting in a bacteria craze.
You need a cleanser which contains salicylic acid i.e. a beta-hydroxy acid that retards the rate of sebum production. Cleansing should be done twice a day (and even more in hot and humid conditions). The basic aim of oily skin care is the removal of excessive sebum or oil from the skin. However, oily skin care procedures should not lead to complete removal of oil. It starts with the use of a cleanser. However, not all cleansers will work.
Most of the oily skin care products are oil-free; however, it is always good to check the ingredients of the product, before you actually buy it. This is especially important if a product is marked as ’suitable for all skin types’, instead of ‘oily skin care product’.
Did you know that excessive toning can harm your skin? Oily skin care is also dependent on the degree of oiliness, if you aren’t too oily, so some of these ’suitable for all’- type of products might be work for you too. For extremely oily skin, only oily skin care products are suitable. Your skin care routine can include an alcohol based toner (for an extremely oily skin). This can be the second step in your oily skin care routine i.e. just after cleansing.
Continual plucking or popping your pimples forces germs further under your skin, which could cause more redness, pain, and maybe even a nasty infection. Popping zits can lead to scarring, which could last forever. Some people may tell you that popping your zits will make them less obtrusive and help them mend faster, but they are wrong.
The degree of oiliness of your skin will determine whether you need to include this in your oily skin care routine. If you do decide to include a moisturiser, be sure to use one that is oil-free, wax-free and lipid-free. You could also use a clay mask (say once a week) as an oily skin care measure.
See what your skin doctor says, he may prescribe skin care products like vitamin A creams, retinoids, sulphur creams etc , which can help anticipate the troubles of difficult skin. You might need to try out a few products before you arrive at the one that is really suitable for your skin. Just in case these criteria don’t give you the desired result, confer with a good dermatologist for advice.
